Knox archery competes at Kentucky NASP State Championship

Ready, aim, the Knox Central archers are shown getting ready to shoot at the state tournament.

Knox County’s Archery Teams have aimed high this season to advance to the Kentucky NASP State Championship being held March 15 and 16 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville.

The two day tournament features middle and high school archery teams across the state competing for the championship title.

On Friday the Knox Central team members and coaches were in good spirits about their season and their performance at State.   Coach Robert Dunaway stated, “I am proud of my team. They are a young team with a lot of a talent. The future looks exciting because I am not losing any archers and next year KC Archery will be the team everyone is watching.”

Co-coach Selina Dunaway gave thanks to local sponsors for making the experience possible.  “Thank you to all out of sponsors and the board for helping us fund our trip to the state tournament. Our archers were so excited some of them grinned the entire time we were there! We had an awesome time!”

When asked about the tournament, the archers collectively said, “it’s been an amazing experience and we will be back next year!”

Final standings from the tournament will be available on Saturday, March 16.
