Student artwork from across Knox County will be on exhibit during this year’s Redbud Festival of Appalachian Culture on the campus of Union College.
“This year we had over 190 entries submitted for the art show and they are all quite wonderful,” said Rita Wood, member of the Barbourville Junior Woman’s Study Club which sponsors the event.
This is not the first year for the art show. Formerly called the Knox County Art Show, the Study Club has partnered with Union College to conduct the contest during the annual Redbud Festival. Student artwork will be on display during the event, which will be held on the college campus Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Best of show winners will be displayed in the lobby of Commercial Bank on North Main Street the week of April 14th.
A reception and awards program will be held on Friday, April 11 at 7pm in the Union College student center for the top winners in each age category and best of show.
