Preschool registration underway in Knox

Although the end of the school year is several weeks away, educators in Knox County are busy registering the district’s future graduates to begin preschool this fall.

The Knox County Public Schools, along with KCEOC Headstart, held a joint registration event on the campus of Union College on Friday, March 15.   Over sixty students were registered and screened using the Dial-IV assessment  in the developmental domains of motor, communication, cognitive, adaptive/self-help, and social.

Parents and guardians of children who are eligible for preschool next fall which did not participate in registration may download applications from the Knox County Public Schools website.   Application forms may be returned to Central Office along with the child’s birth certificate, social security card, immunization certificate, physical exam, eye exam, and proof of household income (W-2, income tax return, or check stub.)

If you have questions about the district’s preschool program, please call (606)546-3157, ext. 2419 or (606)546-3157, ext. 2441.
