Students from the Lynn Camp DECA chapter recently won high honors at the state conference held March 6-9 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The DECA chapter, made up of marketing education students, won an award for the largest percent increase in membership during the 2010-2011 school year.

Cecilia Long and Shauntay Linville, both seniors, won awards in the Kentucky Marketing Fundamentals test.  Long won third place, Linville second.

Andrew Martin, a senior, won third place in the Quick Serve Restaurant Management role-play competition.  Martin now qualifies to attend the national conference to be held in Orlando.

Andrew Fore, a senior, placed in the Retail Merchandising role-play competition.

Tyler Hubbard, a junior, placed in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing test.

The Lynn Camp DECA chapter is sponsored by Selina Deaton, marketing education teacher.  Deaton replaced Margaret McDaniel after her retirement earlier this year.   Deaton is proud to have so many students qualify for state and national competition this year and looks forward to the future of Lynn Camp’s DECA chapter.
