Lay and Lynn Camp win monthly attendance awards

Lay Elementary and Lynn Camp Middle/High led the way with the highest average daily attendance during the third month of school.

Each month the Board of Education along with the Office of Pupil Personnel recognizes the top elementary, middle, and high school that had the highest average daily attendance during the preceding month of school.

For the third month of school, which started on October 10 and ended on November 7, Lay and Lynn Camp middle/high students earned the traveling attendance trophy by missing the least amount of school.   Lay principal Jeff Frost and Lynn Camp Schools principal Anthony Pennington accepted the trophies from Gina Sears, pupil personnel director, during the November 26 meeting of the Knox County Board of Education.

Attendance percentages for Knox County schools during month three were Central Elementary 92.99%, Dewitt Elementary 95.31%, Flat Lick Elementary 94.76%, G.R. Hampton Elementary 93.72%, Girdler Elementary 93.91%, Lay Elementary 95.35%, Lynn Camp Elementary 94.81%, Knox Middle 91.72%, Lynn Camp Middle 93.30%, Knox Central High 90.63%, and Lynn Camp High 92.40%.
