For some it may seem unusual, spending Thanksgiving away from home with cheerleaders from across the world, but for Hannah Campbell, Emily Parsons, and Presley Peyton, it was an opportunity to network and show off their skills.

Campbell, a senior, walked in the 92nd Annual Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is the oldest Thanksgiving Parade in the nation.

Parsons, also a senior, visited New York City during her Thanksgiving Break and joined more than 700 cheerleaders and dancers in performing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This is the 18th year that Varsity, the sponsoring organization, has participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Peyton, a junior, spent her Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. She was one of over 500 cheerleaders and dancers who participated in the Thanksgiving Tour at the theme park.

All three girls were selected as an All-American Cheerleader this summer at the UCA Cheerleading Camp held at the University of Tennessee.

“The entire KC cheer program is very proud of the girls and how well they represent Panther Nation,” said Lisa Napier, cheerleading coach at Knox Central.
