Knox Central ‘cheers’ their way to placing at State

Knox Central High School cheerleaders competed in the KHSAA Competitive Cheer Championships held at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green on Saturday, February 23.

The girls brought home a 4th place trophy with their performace, competing in the Class 2A large varsity division.   Final standings in Class 2A were Paul Laurence Dunbar first place, Greenup County second place, North Bullitt third place, and Knox Central fourth.   There were ten teams competing in the division.

“This is the first time that Knox Central has placed in the top four of the state in more than twenty years,” said coach Lisa Napier.

The cheerleaders advanced to state after winning their regional competition held earlier this year.
