Students at Dewitt Elementary are learning that a small donation can make a big difference.
During the month of February students participated in the “Pennies for Patients” fundraiser to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Overall, students from Dewitt raised over $667 for the organization.
Holly Vanover’s kindergarten class came in as the top donor, with $201.59 in pennies and other coins. As the top fundraising class, Vanover’s kindergarten students will receive a pizza party and a silver pennant to display in their classroom. The second and third place donors, Beth Mills and Paula Smith’s classes, will receive a bronze pennant.
