Faces of KCPS: STC Community Engagement Coordinator

Bill Matt Dixon

Bill Matt DixonI am excited to be working as a Community Engagement Coordinator for Save the Children in Knox County.  My work is to involve our community partners to share in the process to ensure students are ready when entering kindergarten and can reach proficiency by grade 3.  I have been very pleased that I have 24 volunteers representing our local area that have committed to engaging in the work.  I enjoy being at home and continuing the work I love from a different focus.

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the United States and around the world, the organization gives children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. “We do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.”  Knox County Public Schools have partnered with Save the Children on an eight year grant that will change our community, one child’s life at a time.
