Elementary students at Lynn Camp Schools got an early lesson on leadership as they learned directly from the leader of their community.
Corbin Mayor Willard McBurney visited fifth grade students at Lynn Camp on Wednesday, October 12th, and shared with them the ins and outs of being mayor of the city.
“He talked about his daily routine and normal situations he encounters everyday and took several questions from students,” said Darya Logan, family resource center coordinator at the school.
Questions that the students had for the mayor ranged from where he attended to college to what he can do for our economy.
“We loved having Mayor McBurney come visit with us,” said Logan, while sharing that she is constantly looking for community leaders to visit the school and share their experience and knowledge with students.
