A Knox County Middle School student learned about the Legislative process through a hands-on and up-close experience during her visit to Frankfort on Tuesday, March 1st.
Laura Beth Mills, eighth grade at Knox Middle, served as a page for Senator Robert Stivers in the Senate Chambers. Stivers represents the 25th District (counties of Clay, Knox, Lee, Owsley, Whitley, and Wolfe) and is the Senate President.
The experience allowed Mills to learn more about the daily business of the Senate when they are in session. Pages perform a valuable service for senators and staff by delivering messages, running errands, copying material, and delivering bills.
