Leadership Day to be held Tuesday at Lay

The leaders of tomorrow would like to invite the leaders of today to join them in celebrating accomplishments achieved this school year.

Jesse D. Lay Elementary is committed to “Growing Leaders Through Learning”, but as students will point out, there is a united spirit of growing a better community.  In doing this, the students and staff would like to invite community members to take a glimpse into the future of Knox County and the Tri-County Region with their second annual Leadership Day.

Leadership Day is a chance for our community to see the future workforce, as Lay showcases their students and their ability to implement the “Leader in Me” process, based on the work of Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

Come see the future at work and be inspired to invest in the work occurring at Jesse D. Lay Elementary this Tuesday, April 5, beginning at 8:15am.

The morning showcase will feature:

  • A light breakfast
  • Student presentations
  • A School Tour
  • Student displays
  • Student led data notebook presentations
  • An adult/student panel discussion
  • Q and A about Leader in Me
