#KCDanceBlue planned for October 17

Efforts to raise awareness and funding for childhood cancer continue in the Knox County Public Schools following the conclusion of September’s national Childhood Cancer month.

During the month of September, Knox schools coordinated a variety of community-wide activities and events to increase awareness for the disease.  On September 19, the two groups combined to “Go Gold” by wearing gold, releasing balloons, and decorating storefronts.

Now, Knox County and Knox Central High School students have an opportunity to directly support Kentucky families impacted.

KC DanceBlue, trending online as #KCDanceBlue, will be sponsoring a mini-marathon for UK DanceBlue on October 17, 2015, 6pm until midnight, at Knox Central High School.

It is the mission of the University of Kentucky Dance Marathon, UK DanceBlue, to create an organization that operates through the support and leadership of the UK students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the community. The organization enhances the lives of children and families suffering from childhood cancer through the Golden Matrix Fund, and therefore serves the Bluegrass by assisting those treated at the University of Kentucky Pediatric Oncology Clinic.

All money raised by KC DanceBlue and UK DanceBlue directly supports The Golden Matrix Fund.
