Whether you choose to dance or not, this Saturday all of Knox County is invited to a night dedicated #forthekids. The annual KC DanceBlue event is hosted at Knox Central High School and raises funds for the Golden Matrix Fund, established to support the kids of the Kentucky Children’s Hospital Hematology and Oncology Clinic. DanceBlue also helps to provide funds to support research at the UK Markey Cancer Center.
KC DanceBlue is one of many regional DanceBlue events that are a spin-off of the University of Kentucky’s DanceBlue. While UK’s event culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping marathon, those attending Knox Central High School on Saturday, November 2, will be able to sit, dance, and cheer as funds are raised between 6 pm and 12 midnight. Several local schools and businesses have donated items to be auctioned off during the night. Local businesses that have held fundraisers will present their check to KC DanceBlue during the non-stop event.
Those who register to attend KC DanceBlue (at all local middle and high schools) will receive a t-shirt with the top five reasons to love KC Dance Blue. The most important reasons? #1 To make miracles happen and #5 It’s for the Kids. Getting to raise funds, burn calories dancing, and hanging out with awesome people are also good reasons to attend!
