High school students compete in district Governor’s Cup

Knox County’s high school academic teams competed in the district 49 and 50 Governor’s Cup competition on Saturday, January 25.   District 49 is made up of Corbin, Lynn Camp, and Whitley County high schools.  District 50 is made up of Barbourville, Oneida Baptist Institute, Clay County, and Knox Central.

Winners from the Knox County Public Schools include:

  • Knox Central’s Future Problem Solving Team, 3rd place
  • Knox Central’s Quick Recall Team, 4th place
  • Anthony Grubb, tied for 4th place, Social Studies
  • Amara Lewis, 5th place, Social Studies
  • Nate Partin, 5th place, Arts and Humanities and Mathematics

Knox Central and Lynn Camp both received the Hume Sportsmanship Award in their districts.
