Barbourville ARH donates totes to school and community groups

From packing clothes to transporting school materials, the Knox County Public Schools and area organizations recently received a donation that will make carrying the items a little more convenient.

Barbourville ARH Hospital donated over 4,600 tote bags to the school district.  Tammy Patterson, facilities manager for the hospital, stated that the school system would put them to good use and help distribute them to others in the community.

Gina Sears, Director of Pupil Personnel for KCPS, said that schools would use them to help distribute clothing to students and provide those without a backpack with a way of carrying their books and supplies.

“We were also able to donate totes to the Barbourville and Corbin school systems to give to their students,” said Sears.

A donation of totes was also made to the Knox County Sheriffs Department, Barbourville City Police, and Knox and Laurel Counties DCBS.
