Rising artists are preparing to showcase their newly discovered skills in the county wide Barbourville Woman’s Study Club art contest this year. Students of Molly Shields, art teacher at Knox Central, have spent the first days of the new school year learning skills and techniques to create their masterpieces.
“Most of them I had never met until this semester, and all but one were brand new to art classes,” said Shields. “They’ve put in tons of hard work and it shows.”
A total of fourteen entries were submitted for the annual contest.
