Dear KCPS Families,
We have important information to share with you that will impact school beginning Monday.
Beginning on Monday, March 3, an additional 20 minutes will be added to each school day.
10 minutes will be added at the start of the school day. Buses will run 10 minutes earlier than normal. All school entrances will be open starting at 7:20 am for drop-offs.
10 minutes will be added at the end of the school day. Buses will run 10 minutes later than normal.
If you transport your child to school, or pick them up, be aware of the new start and end times.
This adjustment is necessary because Knox County has used ten (10) NTI days, 18 weather or safety days, and three (3) days with either delay or early release this school year.
We would also like to tentatively, at this time, keep Spring Break and Memorial Day as scheduled off days for students. With the added time and no further cancellations, the last day of school will be May 30 (pending the passing of HB 241). Any additional days we must cancel or delay school may impact these dates.
We continue to monitor decisions made during this Legislative session in Frankfort and will make any changes that benefit our students.
