The safety of our students and staff is always top priority. We want to make you aware that this afternoon it was brought to our attention that a student indicated during a group chat the possibility of threatening behavior. Our school resource officers were immediately notified and began an investigation.
This online threat was made off campus and not during school hours. The Knox County Sheriff’s Department will continue the investigation including any disciplinary action.
We all play a vital role in school safety. It is the duty and responsibility of students, staff, and families to report any potential threats to the proper individuals. We appreciate the action of those who reported the online conversation to our school administrators.
