Employees of the Knox County Public Schools can expect to see a boost in their paycheck in the upcoming school year.

“As I said before, this Board is always willing to meet the needs of our hard working staff,” said Superintendent Jeremy Ledford during the Board’s April 23, 2024 meeting.

The raise is in the amount of 5% and will begin July 1, 2024. That brings the total amount of raises to 9% when combined with the past three years.

“Our Board is willing to front-load the raise as the first year won’t be completely supported by the increase in SEEK, but it will be sustained by the increase in SEEK for the 2025-2026 school year,” said Ledford.

“That is a true commitment to our staff for their hard work and dedication to our kids.  I want to thank the Board, again, for this investment in our staff.”

Over the past three years, full-time school staff have also received six stipends totaling $7,500 through Federal ESSER funds. The last of those, $1,000, is set to be paid on May 17.
