Last year, the Knox County Public Schools collected 4,393 Hot Wheels cars that were donated to Shriners Hospital Lexington for their children to enjoy and have a speedy recovery. This year, we are challenging our schools to do the same and exceed that number.
“We are doing this toy drive again as it touched so many kids who are facing difficult times,” said Superintendent Jeremy Ledford.
Beginning September 11 and continuing through November 1, our schools will be collecting new Hot Wheels.
The district will be providing pizza for lunch for all schools that bring in 500 or more Hot Wheels. Schools may choose to add extra incentives to encourage participation, including athletic groups and clubs.
