During a special called meeting of the Board on Tuesday evening, January 7, the new chairman and vice chairman for 2025 was elected.  Mr. Kevin Hinkle will serve as chair and Mr. Jimmy Hendrickson will serve as vice chair.  Both accepted the nomination, and it was unanimous among Board members.  While official, the first regular scheduled meeting that they will conduct will be on January 23.

Before the meeting was called to order was the swearing-in of three unopposed Board members on the November election ballot.

The Honorable Judge Skip Hammons was present to conduct the Oath of Office to Mr. Jim Miles (district three), Dr. Thomas Ashburn (district four), and Mr. Jimmy Hendrickson (district five).  Each will serve a four-year term representing their district.

“I personally want to thank the Board members for their focus on students.  That has been the number one priority of this Board to ensure that schools have the resources to provide the best education possible,” stated Superintendent Jeremy Ledford.

More recognition of their public service is scheduled for the January 23 meeting.
