Several members of the Knox County Board of Education visited Lynn Camp High School on Thursday, August 31, to officially congratulate the Softball Lady Cats on their All “A” Regional championship earned at the end of the last school year.  Each member received a banner displaying the team’s photograph from the final game.

The Lady Cats beat Pineville for the regional title with a score of 11-8. Prior to Pineville, their All “A” opponents included Harlan (18-11), Jackson County (3-1), and Red Bird (16-0). The team had a season record of 20-16.

“This was a very young team,” said coach Nikki Hendrix, reflecting on the team’s growth last year.

“We started five freshman after losing a large and experienced senior class. I’m very proud of this young team for working so hard to accomplish this.”

Hendrix is excited for what this spring will bring for the Lady Cats.

“I can’t wait to see what this team can accomplish over the next few years.”
