Imagine being instantly rewarded for doing well on an assessment, or quickly learning that you made a mistake or two in your work.
Students in Sarah Watkin’s Spanish I & II classes at Knox Central High School completed their unit of study on food and kitchen vocabulary by engaging in a hands-on cooking lesson on Friday, September 16.
“They have been studying food vocabulary and things in the kitchen and I thought this would be a fun formative assessment for them,” said Watkins.
Students translated Spanish recipes and made a variety of dips and salsas for tasting. As video report (below) shows, correctly translating the recipe was the key to a great tasting snack.
