The Knox County Board of Education made amendments to the school calendar on Tuesday night to reflect additional winter weather cancellations that accumulated in February and the General Assembly’s passing of relief days for school districts.
Changes to the calendar include:
- Friday, April 3, is now an instructional day. School will be in session for students on this day.
- Tuesday, May 19, is not an instructional day – students will not report. This is Election Day.
- Monday, May 25, is not an instructional day – students will not report. This is Memorial Day holiday.
- Based on these amendments, the new tentative last day for students is Thursday, June 4.
The Board previously approved at their February meeting to amend the calendar to reflect April 6-10 being instructional days for students.
