Lynn Camp parents and community members are invited to an unique open house experience on Monday, August 29, from 5pm to 7pm at the middle/high school.
“At our open house, parents and community members get to step inside our school and experience what it’s like to be a student in a 21st century classroom,” said principal Amy Bays.
“More importantly visitors will learn about the tools and programs that help to make our students better prepared, than ever before, for life after high school.”
Attendees will learn about the Knox Intervention System, Infinite Campus Parent Portal, and courses such as AP, AdvanceKY, Laying the Foundation, foreign language, Success for All, career and technical, and dual credit. Assessment and accountability information will also be shared on tests that are scheduled this school year.
Representatives from the University of the Cumberlands, Somerset Community College, and others will be available to help answer any questions about post-secondary college and scholarship opportunities. A representative from Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority will be available to answer questions about financial aid and KEES money.
“We may still have a few desks in rows at times, but our instructional practices are anything but traditional,” said Bays.
There will be a drawing for door prizes at 7pm following the BETA Club induction ceremony that will be held at 6:30pm. Attendees can earn tickets for door prizes by attending sessions on the various programs and services. You must be present to win.
