More than a dream: KC dance team wins top awards

The Knox Central High School Dance Team took home several awards at the “Just Keep Dreaming” dance competition held at Bourbon County High on Saturday, February 22.

The team placed third in the Varsity Hip Hop division and 1st in the Varsity Pom Division. The team also received the overall judge’s WOW award. Team member Samara Callihan placed 2nd in the Varsity Hip Hop Solo division and Briana Mollett placed 3rd in Varsity Jazz Solo. Ashley Kozlow and Kristian Keyes placed first in Varsity Lyrical Duo. Team members Breanna Mills and Ashley Kozlow were also chosen, exclusively by the judges, as Honor Squad members.

The dance team competed against several other high schools from Kentucky and is now qualified to participate in the Heartland National Dance Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 29th.

Members include Breanna Mills, Jade Trosper, Cora Foley, Brandi Mills, Briana Mollett, Samara Callihan, Miranda Lewis, Kaitlyn Gambrel, Kristian Keyes, Ashley Kozlow, Tabitha Elliot, Brittany Elliot, and Victoria Johnson.  The team is coached by Leeann Mills.
