Knox students named to All-State Chorus

Five Knox Central High School students have been selected to participate in this year’s Kentucky All-State Chorus to be held February 6-8 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts.

Knox Central’s All-State Choir Members are Austin Black, Jeff Grubb, Cameron Hatfield, and Tristan Hinkle. Qualifying for the Junior High All-State Choir was Gary Dugger.

According to Eddie Campbell, KCHS Choir Director, over 500 students were selected to participate in this year’s choir. Over 1,000 students auditioned to participate by singing cappella “A Rose Touched by the Sun’s Warm Rays.”

Knox County students competed for the prestigious group during regional auditions which were conducted and judged at First Baptist Church in London.

Campbell states that the All-State choir is a great opportunity for the students to join other musically talented peers from across the state and compete for scholarship awards.
