Members of the Knox Central boys and girls track teams have qualified for state competition after winning at the regional meet held Saturday, May 21 in Boyle County. The teams were honored by the Knox County Board of Education on May 24th.
Qualifying for state on the girls team were:
- Sabrina Elliott, 1600 meters
- Shakira Gregory, 4X100 relay and high jump
- Brittany Hatfield, pole vault and alternate for 4X100 relay
- Casey Mitchell, 4X100 relay
- Cassi Shippy, long jump, 100 meter dash and 4X100 relay
- Jasemene Taylor, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 4X100 relay
- Stella Achenjang, alt. 4X100 relay
- Cianna Tuttle, alt. 4X100 relay
- Taylor Moser, alt. 4X100 relay
Qualifying on the boys track team were:
- Scott Gilliam, discus
- Jamey Mills, high jump
- Michael Brock, pole vault
- Travis Mills, pole vault
- Jeff Canady, long jump
- Devin Edwards, 4X800 relay
- Chris Gray, 4X800 relay
- Jerry Clark, 4X800 relay
- Calab Mitchell, 4X800 relay
- Patrick Logan, 4X800 relay
