Knox cadets attend Junior Leadership Challenge

Knox County’s JROTC cadets spent part of their summer vacation learning valuable leadership lessons while competing in challenges.

Fifteen cadets from Knox Central and Lynn Camp participated in the Junior Leadership Challenge held at Camp Davey Crockett in Whitesburg, TN from June 2-8.   The six day training event allowed cadets to learn and practice leadership skills including wilderness survival, water survival, first aid, land navigation, marksmanship, how to build survival shelters, improvised fire starting and canoeing.  The final day of camp was challenge day in which the cadets took first place in the swimming event.
