
Students from Knox County Middle School were honored by the Knox County Board of Education on April 26 for their participation and success in state Governor’s Cup competition.
Members of the KCMS Quick Recall Team were “Smart 16” finalists at the state competition. Team members include T.J. Melton, Chris Gibson, Trevor Sizemore, Ethan Gregory, Tristan Hinkle, Bobby Keith, Corey Carnes, Chelsea Gray, Sarah Miles, Peyton Barnhill, Clay Sprinkles, Isaac Brooks, and Niven Achenjang. The team placed 1st in district and regional competitions. They are coached by April Helton and Melissa Hammons.

T.J. Melton was honored for placing 8th in the Social Studies assessment at state competition. Melton had previously placed 1st in district and regional competitions.
The students were presented certificates by Board member Sam Watts.
