Lynn Camp’s chapter of DECA, a student organization for marketing education students, is getting ready to pack their bags and showcase their skills in Orlando, Florida after winning top honors at their state conference held in Louisville last week.
Winning first place honors was Faith Smith in the Business Finance competitive event. In third, Tiana Simpson, in the Hotel and Lodging Management event. In fourth, the team consisting of Shelby Green and Rhea Carter, in Marketing Communications Team Decision Making.
“This year, competitive events resembled national competition”, shared Selina Deaton, advisor for the students at Lynn Camp.
“The students were only given ten minutes to prepare for their presentations. In the past Kentucky DECA has given the students the opportunity to study their preliminaries and final role plays a couple weeks before conference.”
