Lynn Camp Elementary second grade students recently learned the basics of saving money after a lesson from “Captain Cash”.

Sponsored by L&N Federal Credit Union, “Captain Cash” taught students how to earn and save money.   He explained to students that now is the best time to start saving and encouraged them to save ten cents from every dollar they earn.

Each student received a coin holder and 50 cents to help jump start their savings plan.   Two students were randomly selected and received $5.00.

The lesson was part of a unit in the social studies classes of Melinda Abner, Karen Brown, Betty Burnette, and Julie Shepherd.
