The Knox County Board of Education approved amendments to the current academic year calendar during their meeting on Tuesday night. The changes reflect missed school days this year due to weather and include state approved non-traditional days that the district utilized for the first time this year.
There will be no school on Election Day, Tuesday, May 17. The last day for students is now Thursday, May 26. Closing day for staff is Friday, May 27. Graduations will be held on Saturday, May 28. Knox Central will conduct their graduation at 2pm followed by Lynn Camp at 7pm.
The Board also approved the 2016-2017 academic calendar for next school year. The first day for students will be August 11.
