Fall festival planned for community at Lynn Camp

Plans are underway for an event that will bring together the entire community at Lynn Camp Schools.

The 1st annual Lynn Camp Community Fall Festival, slated for Saturday, October 25, is the first of it’s kind for Knox County.

Taking center stage at the event is a political “fancy farm” type meet the candidates forum, according to event organizer Darya Logan, FRYSC coordinator for the school.

According to Logan, state and local politicians have been invited to speak at the event beginning at 2pm.   While a confirmed list of candidates who have expressed that they will be in attendance has not yet been released, Logan and school personnel hopes that the first year will lay the ground work for the event to become a premier political stop in southeastern Kentucky in future years.

Prior to meeting the candidates, families are invited to enjoy entertainment and games for children, and adults, of all ages.  The event will be held at the middle/high school campus beginning at 11am and continue until 5pm.

A festival walk is also planned for during the event, which will take place on the football field track.

Additional information about the Lynn Camp Community Fall Festival will be released closer to the event date or you may contact Darya Logan at (606)344-9804 or darya.logan@knox.kyschools.us
