The Knox County Board of Education approved the school calendar for the upcoming year during their February 23rd meeting.
The calendar has a first day for students on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Staff will begin reporting to school on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 for teacher equivalent days.
“This calendar is very similar to the one for the current year,” said Superintendent Kelly Sprinkles.
“The difference is there is an entire full week set aside tentatively for spring break. With the addition of non-traditional days to our calendar, we want to be able to give a full Monday to Friday week if possible next year.”
If excessive cancellations do not force the Board to amend the calendar, the dates for spring break will be April 2-6, 2018.
