Student advisory learns lessons from local business owner

Students seated at a table show off their new book study, Laws of Leadership.

Lynn Camp’s Principal Student Advisory Committee is putting leadership in action.  The group recently visited Grateful Ed’s BBQ restaurant in Barbourville where they heard from owner Eddie Frazier on the importance of entrepreneurship and making your idea succeed

Principal Anthony Pennington presented each student member with a gift, Covey’s Laws of Leadership.  The students, Principal Pennington, and Amy Pennington representing Central Office, all participated in a book club reading while at the restaurant.  Principal Pennington engaged the students in traits of effective leadership while using the success of Grateful Ed’s as a visual of the hard work, innovative thinking, and dedication that a business owner must have to succeed.

All of the students enjoyed the discussion led by Frazier and Pennington including a meal from the restaurant.
