Concert and Madrigal choir honored for distinguished performances

The Knox Central Concert and Madrigal choir were in the spotlight at the May 24th meeting of the Knox County Board of Education.    Choir members were honored by the Knox County Board for their performances at the district and state Kentucky Music Educators Association choir festivals held earlier this year. 

The Concert and Madrigal choir each received distinguished ratings at the KMEA district festival.   At the state festival, the Madrigal choir received an apprentice rating and the Concert choir received a proficient rating.   At the state level both apprentice and proficient ratings are high based on the criteria used to judge the performances. 

Members of the Knox Central Concert choir are Jackie Dean, Alex Estes, Kimber Gray, Haleigh Grubb, Dana Hammons, Laura Jackson, Tessa May, Sara Perry, Kristin Taylor, Autumn Warren, Jeffrey Grubb, Justin Matlock, Aaron Nottingham, Chad Sammons, Hope Bargo, Tracy Bargo, Amber Brock, Linda Brooks, Monica Grant, Ida Hobbs, Rachael Hudson, Elizabeth Johnson, Megan McKeehan, Emily Merida, Alishia Mills, Harley Johnson, Tyler Miles, Daniel Stamper, and John Wagers.
 
Madrigal Singers (also members of the concert choir) are Kimber Gray, Johnna Helton, Deanna Smith, Jason Shelton, Buddy Tyree, Bradley Wyatt, Kim Jones, Kimberly Longsworth, Emily Partin, Amanda Peyton, Tabitha Strange, Austin Black, Devon Hurley, Tyler May, and Zachary Mitchell.
