Are you an eighth-grade middle school student interested in math, science, and technology?

Do you enjoy hands-on science experiments, exploring different math concepts, and learning about new technologies?

The Center for Rural Development is now accepting online applications from eighth-grade students in Southern and Eastern Kentucky for its 2019 Rogers Explorers summer leadership program.

To be eligible to apply, the student must:
Be a current eighth-grader located within The Center’s 45-county primary service area. The service area consists of the following Kentucky counties: Adair, Bath, Bell, Boyd, Breathitt, Carter, Casey, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Elliott, Estill, Floyd, Garrard, Green, Harlan, Jackson, Jessamine, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Lincoln, Magoffin, Martin, McCreary, Menifee, Metcalfe, Monroe, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Rowan, Russell, Taylor, Wayne, Whitley and Wolfe.
Have a strong interest in developing skills in leadership, technology, math, science, and community service.
Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4-point scale).
Rogers Explorers, an in-depth three-day, two-night summer youth leadership camp, is developed, coordinated, and supervised by The Center for Rural Development and hosted in partnership with seven Kentucky colleges and universities.

All lodging, meals, and program expenses (with the exception of transportation to and from the program host site) are provided free to the student.

The deadline to apply for the 2019 Rogers Explorers program is March 1st at 8 a.m. (EST).
