Setting the stage for World Finals

Students at three Knox County elementary schools are preparing to let their knowledge and ideas to come to life on the World stage as they advance to the highest level of competition in Odyssey of the Mind.

Dewitt, Flat Lick, and Girdler Elementary each placed second at the State competition, held on March 24 at the University of the Cumberlands.   Saturday’s event marked the 35th anniversary of the Kentucky event.

Alexis Mills, Logan Brown, JD Burdine, Emily Jordan, Noah Hensley, Aaron Early and Brayden Hall represented Dewitt Elementnary.  They are coached by Beth Mills and Noval Bond.

flatlick

Flat Lick’s Layla Bowling, Kadyn Wells, Paige Sharp, Jayme Swafford, Emily Gray and Bryleigh Mills shined bright at the State event.  They are coached by Donna Welch and Suzie Childers.

girdler

Matthew Wood, Austin Ward, Sara Gibson, Tyra Daniels, Dalton Alsip, Morgan Hicks and Josh Hoskins represented the Girdler Tigers at the state Odyssey competition.  They are coached by Rita Wood and Sherry Hammons.
