The Kentucky Educational Development Cooperative
(KEDC), in partnership with Morehead State University
(MSU), Union College (UC), the Kentucky Department
of Education (KDE), Reading is Fundamental (RIF), Collaborative
Center for Literacy Development (CCLD) –
State Agency and National Non-Profits of the National
Literacy Project (NLP) and the Southern Regional Education
Board (SREB) present Project Literacy Innovations
for Neighborhoods in Kentucky (LINK) to provide
and expand early literacy for young children, motivate
older children to read, and increase student achievement
by using school libraries as partners to improve
literacy, distributing free books to children and their
families through RIF, and offering high-quality literacy
activities.
Knox County Public Schools is a proud recipient of the
Project LINK grant and has been actively scheduling
activities and book giveaways to promote literacy in
our community. Each school is asked to “tweet” out
positive literacy messages and activities using the
hashtag #readknoxky. Here are some of the recent
tweets trending on our social media page.
