Chemistry and team building bring students together at Lynn Camp

Students are shown stacking cups in certain patterns using a rubber band with several strings for control.

Students in Jonathan Stephens’ chemistry classes returned from winter break to a team building activity to help them transition back into class and cooperative learning.

As Stephens’ explains, “they had to stack cups in certain patterns using a rubber band with several strings for control.”

Some students immediately tried ideas while others pondered the problem before them.  At the end the class, it wasn’t as much about success in stacking in patterns as it was building teamwork within the class.

“Students seemed to have a great time and it conveyed the importance of working together for finding success.”
