SBDM Parent Elections to be held at Knox Central

It is time for the 2019-2020 Knox Central High School parent elections.

Below are the guidelines for the parent election:

  • “A “parent” means a parent, stepparent, or foster parent. Guardians also qualify as parents if the student lives with them and they have a court order giving them legal custody.

Three groups of people may not serve on the council as parent representatives:

  • 1} Employees of Knox Central High School or their relatives (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife). 2} Employees in the district administrative offices or their relatives (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife). 3} Members of the Board of Education or their spouses.”

Parents who intend to run for parent member of the Knox Central Site Base Council must have a child at Knox Central during the 2019 – 2020 academic year and will need to submit the form (attached in PDF document) or a written statement of intent to the Knox Central main office. Statement of intents will be collected in the K.C. main office on Wednesday, May 15th through Friday, May 17th between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The election will occur on Monday, May 20th from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the Knox Central foyer.

Votes will be tallied at the close of the election. The top 2 vote recipients will be the Knox Central S.B.D.M. parent representative for the 2019 – 2020 academic year.

Newly elected parent representatives will have to attend a 6 hour training. Experienced parents elected will have to attend a 3 hour training. Also elected parent members must submit to State and Federal crime checks. KRS 160.380 (10)
