Local crafters invited to attend Knox County Art Festival

Local artists are shown setup during last year's Arts Festival at Knox Central.

Plans are underway for the 4th annual Knox Central Crafters Fair, a part of the district-wide Arts Festival, scheduled at KCHS on Tuesday, December 12.

“It’s an opportunity for our community crafters and artisans to provide goods and services to other members of our community alongside Knox Central’s Art students, build working relationships, enjoy blessed fellowship, and celebrate and prepare for the upcoming holidays,” said Molly Shields, art teacher at KCHS.

Each crafter will be charged a $25 table fee; this fee will be deposited into the KC Art fund for scholarship opportunities, and class supply costs.

Vendors may begin setting up as early as 2:00 p.m., and will be welcome to stay open until the close of events around 9pm.

“Most anything goes, with the exception of food, but we ask that you provide a brief description of what you will be selling in advance,” explained Shields.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to get some of that Christmas shopping done with local artisans and small businesses while enjoying an evening full of arts celebration with performances by students from across the district,” said Shields.

Student performances will begin at 6pm and include dance, drama, music, and visual artwork.  Beth Lovett, Darryl Dixon, Kathy Detherage, Molly Shields, Jackie Melton, and Stephanie Schumann help oversee the event.
