The results are in, and 95.24% of Knox County’s students said “count me in” when it came to being in school, and on time, on High Attendance Day held Tuesday, September 17.

“I would like to thank the attendance clerks, principals, FRYSC coordinators, and teachers for emphasizing the importance of high attendance, on Tuesday and all year long,” said Gina Sears, director of pupil personnel and student support.

“On Tuesday our students experienced activities and lessons that put meaning to why students should attend every school day,” she continued to say.  “While every day might not feature a treat, extra recess time, or other specials that were on Tuesday, we hope that meaningful instructional strategies will bring learning to life and create excitement for the child.”
