December 30, 2018 and updated January 1, 2019

Dear Knox County Schools Family,

On behalf of Superintendent Kelly Sprinkles, it is with sorrow that I share information on the passing of another member of the Knox County Schools family.   Jimmy Messer, a bus driver serving the Lynn Camp area, passed away on Saturday, December 29.  He is survived by his wife, Debbie, who is also a driver for our district.

To Debbie and his family,  I express condolences on behalf of the Superintendent, Board, and our colleagues.  Jimmy was a valuable member of the KCPS team.  He drove bus #1106, a handicap bus, in which he transported some of Knox County’s most precious students.

A memorial service for Jimmy will be held on Saturday, January 5, at the Corbin Center for Technology and Community Activities (222 Corbin Center Drive.)  Visitation will be from 1pm – 3pm.  The funeral will be at 3pm.

The family asks that you please do not send flowers.

Please keep the Messer family in your thoughts and prayers.
