Students from Lynn Camp Schools brought home the bronze from this year’s competition hosted by the national chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
Cheyenne Hopkins and Masyn Mitchell earned the spotlight by completing a project on community service and awareness about abuse. The team had previously won regional and state competitions for their work, earning them the opportunity to advance to the national conference.
“Thank you to everyone who helped this year with donations, time, etc,” said Jodie Carnes, teacher sponsor for the chapter, on behalf of the team.
The national competition was held in Nashville, Tenn. during the week of July 3, 2017.
FCCLA is a career and technical student organization that aims to help youth in public and private schools with family bonds, careers, and participation in the community. Members of FCCLA routinely contribute to the surrounding community by raising money for community programs like homeless aid and youth abuse prevention.
