Community Collaborative seeks input to improve kindergarten readiness

The Knox County Community Collaborative needs your feedback as they help improve the readiness rate of Knox County students entering kindergarten and successfully transitioning from primary to intermediate grades.

The number of children entering kindergarten ready to succeed without additional support continues to remain low in Knox County. Kindergarten screenings show that over half of Knox County children are starting school at a disadvantage. Without intervention services, the generational poverty cycle will continue.

Save the Children, in partnership with the Knox County Public Schools, is asking all families of students that will soon enter school or are already in elementary school to please take a short survey.  It should take less than 10 minutes to complete. To show their appreciation, if you complete this survey by February 21, 2018 Save the Children will provide your family with a variety of high-quality children’s books suitable for their ages.
