Dewitt’s third and fourth grade classes got to be space explorers at EKU’s Hummel Planetarium for the first time on Thursday, February 7, 2019.
They enjoyed the Earth, Moon and Sun program that offered a fun and educational experience that taught students about the solar system while feeling like they were actually in outer space.
The program also educated the young explorers about Indian culture and misconceptions that people have about the solar system. Students had many aww moments when they were inside the Planetarium seeing and experiencing things that they never knew before.
This field trip is a memory that they will carry with them forever.
